So, Virgin Mobile runs this promotion in your day to day shop where they hand you a sim card, you just purchase air time and you are connected - only if this does not get too complicated! I purchased one of these on Saturday, 19th October 2013. Due to the fact that I still had airtime on the MTN card, I only ported my number on Tuesday, the 22nd and called the call center on 123, where I was informed this takes approximately 3 hours - NO IT DOES NOT. Wednesday when I called the call center again (this is now 24 hours later and the number is still not ported), apologies, blah blah blah, I'm not interested, just port the number. OK, Thursday, viola, this happens. Now try and activate the BIS service. Really??? Now I cannot be picked up on the system! Oldest excuse in the book! On Saturday 26th October, miraculously, the BIS service goes through, the money is taken off the airtime I purchased, and guess what? I DO NOT HAVE BIS SERVICE. And we are here in SA! No service until Monday during office hours - that helps a lot! Like I say, does poor Richard Branson know how his company's name are dragged through the mud here in sunny South Africa!
