Contract Cancellation Request Not Completed

I requested and received a "Premature Cancellation Quotation" from Vodacom on 01/10/2013 and the amount quoted was R1, 708.96. I paid this amount to Vodacom on 04/10/2013 and sent the signed acceptance of the quote, a copy of my ID and proof of payment to them on this date.

I received an automated response from Vodacom indicating they had received my email on 04/10/2013. I received another email from Vodacom on 05/10/2013 which stated "Your service request has been closed".

A week later I dialled *111# on my phone to check if my phone was switched to "pay as you go" only to discover that my contract was not cancelled. I contacted the call centre and was advised that it would be escalated and cancelled.

A week later nothing had changed and I called again and was advised that it would be escalated and sorted out.

On 25/10/2013 it still wasn't cancelled and when I contacted Vodacom I was told it would be corrected by close of business. This morning it still wasn't cancelled and the agent at the Vodacom call centre advised that now there is an amount of R592.06 due before the contract will be cancelled.

I paid the quoted amount so I feel like I'm being ripped off!
