MTN Bad Internet recption

I recently moved into a new apartment in Cape Town CBD. I check the MTN Internet coverage map before I moved I to ensure that I will have maximum signal coverage in the new apartment - which according to the map should be the case. Both my flatmate and I took out the same MTN contract and have been very disappointed with the outcome. The reality is that the reception is terrible and browsing the Internet is just a frustration to not possible at all. Is there anything that can be done to make our internet at least usable? Perhaps an antenna or booster of some sort?

My work provided a Vodacom internet dongle, just so I can get some work done - seeing that I'm unable to so it with my MTN dongle. The Vodacom dongle has excellent signal reception at all times.

Paying for something that you're not to able to use, after being assured you would be able to is unethical.
