Waste of money and time/ wrong information at sale

When we bought our neotel pay as you go phone for our home we were told that we just needed to top up once a year and if there was airtime available on our phone the phone would stay active for a year, in other words that it was not necessary to top up monthly as our phone would stay active, provided there was airtime. For the first year the phone worked perfectly, and as we had a large amount of airtime and used the phone very seldom our phone worked well and we could still make calls. then we started having problems. everytime we recharge after about 3 weeks we get the message that your airtime validity has expired, even though we have about R100 airtime available! this is ridiculous that we do not have access to make calls with these funds? after speaking to an agent I was told that we need to recharge every 20 days for our phone to work!!! It is disgusting that Neotel can operate like this!! If we were told this when we bought the phone we would have stayed with Telkom... Atleast they provide the service that you pay for!!!
