I've been a loyal customer of mtn for more than 10 years. Mtn used to be the best mobile network, with the best coverage in any area imaginable, but that definitely is no longer the case. I currently have 2 contracts with them -one for my tablet and one for my mobile phone. I have never had network problems before august 2012 and these problems have been getting worse since then. When I got my tablet I was amazed with the fast internet and the strong signal. I travel a lot and it never seemed to go down no matter where I go. Nowadays I'm lucky if I get 3G coverage and even more so when I happen to stumble onto a spot where I get HSDPA coverage. I have a samsung tab and I recently upgraded to a samsung S3, hoping that the network problems would be something of the past if I no longer used BIS. I regret renewing my contract everyday. The bad network coverage and the fact that it disconnects regularly on both devices most definitely pushes me towards other service providers. I'm not sure whether you can cancel contracts on grounds of bad service. I feel that mtn is not holding up their side of the deal. I've phoned customer care but they could not locate any problems - I'm fed up!!!
