My contract was due for an upgrade, so I chose a blackberry. The next day, the phone froze - no problem, I took it to the Vodacom repair Centre at Tygervalley. They told me it should be 5 days, and if the "out of box" failure was confirmed, I would get a new phone from them.
After 3 weeks I gave them a call, as I heard nothing from them. I was then told that I needed a job number, and that I will have to wait a further 2 weeks. 5 weeks without the new phone seemed unreasonable, so I complained at Vodacom head office/customer care. They contacted me on the same day and within 3 days I got a call telling me my new phone was ready for collection at the Tygervalley repair shop.
I went there over the weekend and they had long stories about being out of stock and that we had to go to other vodacom stores to see if they had stock. I walked over to the 3G store and spoke to Alicia, who helped me and in about 10 mins I had a new phone, a contact number for someone to help me if anything else goes wrong, so wow - terrible service at the one shop, and brilliant service just around the corner.
