Vodacom
Upgrade Phone Faulty and no Immediate Exchange

On Friday 4 October I went to Vodashop Northgate to upgrade my phone to a Blackberry Q10. I dealt with Brandon, the store manager.

Brandon was very clear that if there were any issues with the phone that, within 7 days I could bring it back and it would be swapped out. On Saturday morning I called Brandon because it was overheating when used for anything from checking of email to talking, the charger overheated and the headphones did not work as they did not register on the phone, Brandon again said to come in and they would swap the phone.

When I arrived at the shop the story changed to handing the phone in so that Vodacom's technicians could verify that there was a problem, which could take up to 7 days, and that only thereafter would the phone be swapped out.

Essentially, Vodacom expect me after ONE day after upgrade to be without my phone for 7 days and then possibly have a repaired instrument!

This is completely unacceptable and contravenes the Consumer Protection Act!!!
