Vodacom iPhone5 LTE NO service No Joy

I got my new iphone on 14 january, got it activated with the micro sim two days later, and used it exstatically until 30 January when for no reason it suddenly displayed "No Service". I thought it was a reception problem. Headed off to our local vodacom 4U shop in Hillcrest thinking my simcard had failed. They didn't have any micro sims and their systems were down. On the saturday I drove 60km to Gateway to find a Vodacom Customer Care shop. they kindly did a sim swap... not a word about LTE at this stage. We swapped the sim, NO SERVICE, so it must be the phone... one consultant suggested we upgrade the software to IOS 6.1. Okay off to the iStore to pay R178 for an upgrade (which we later found out causes more problems than it solves) we check the sim card in another un-upgraded cell phone and it works perfectly. It MUST be the phone. I have a brain wave and change my twin sim from the car into my old iphone 4, so that is what I've been using during the NO SERVCE periods. My phone came on again on the Monday so 5 days no phone. It worked for 12 days and then died again on the 12th Feb.
