Note 2 charging port not Repaired under warranty

I took my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to Centurion Vodacom to be repaired since the phone is not charging (Different Samsung chargers and micro-USB cables tested to ensure it is not a charger or cable problem). The phone functions perfectly well if the battery is charged and all options incl. Wi-Fi, Mobile, touch screen software etc works perfectly well. The only problem is the charging which is a known problem on the Note 2 if you google "samsung galaxy note 2 not charging". The phone was sent in for repairs and I was advised to collect it since it will not be repaired due to water damage? If there was water damage my phone would not perfectly well, it is not charging which certainly could not have been caused by water damage. I did not receive proof of water damage when phone was collected. I will not claim this from my insurance and need to have the charging port replaced. I also mentioned to Vodacom staff that it has been researched and is a common problem on the Note 2 charging port.
