Cell C
Data is data and should be data

I have been a since Cell C since 2005 with two contracts. In July 2013 I came due for upgrade from blackberry chat 100 to the Samsung Galaxy S4 R399.00 per month deal. I was informed during the upgrade that my contract will come into effect second week of October. In the meantime my old contract where BBM was made 2GB per month would be in effect.

Late last week I decided to start using my new phone and activated my new sim card with an understanding that my 2GB per month will be in effect until my new contract kicked in. I checked on line and discovered I had 1.8 Gigs left. After two days of use my bill was seating at over R513 rands beside subscription fee and probably excluding vat. When I phoned cell C I was told my remaining data was fair use data and my Internet usage was not part of this hence I was billed separately.

I consider this unethical practice, when I upgraded this technicality was not mentioned. What happens to my due data as the new smaller sim cards do not work on old phone and thirdly, isn't data data? I believe the rule says data is carried over, so I have to get a blackberry in 2016 to use my due data. This is unethical. You lost this client, twice.
