Lots of hassle in a 'hassle-free' upgrade

I recently upgraded my contract with Vodacom. They sent me the new phone, but no SIM card.

I phoned to ask for the SIM, and was "helped" by someone called Mampai (Ref no: 10782418). She assured me there was meant to be a SIM with the phone and that she would get it it sent to me.

Today I called to see why I haven't received the SIM year - it turns out Mampai entered nothing on the system. The guy I spoke to today said I would have to pay for a SIM (not what the person who sold me the upgrade said), and that I would have to order it and wait for it because Mampai never even bothered to enter my call on the system.

Be really sceptical of people who phone and offer you "hassle free" upgrades with no extra costs from Vodacom- this is actually not true at all!
