I gave in my Galaxy S3 for repairs because the power/lock button wouldn't work. So I asked them nicely. Even wrote on the repair sheet that they MUST NOT FORMAT THE DATA.
A few days later I received the phone back with all the data Formatted.
The phone contained sensitive business information which i could not backup because the phone was off because of the fault in the repair button.
