MTN was the service provider I chose for my first phone. At the time, there wasn't a platform like this to complain and after disappointing service I left to Vodacom.
Years later, I gave them a second chance and they have failed horribly.
I took out a 24 month contract for a Samsung Galaxy tab when they first came out and it is now 22months later. I have been overcharged, double debited and generally disappointed with the service I have received.
Every time I go into store (Menlyn Shopping Centre) to sort out an issue, I wait approximately an hour for service and in the end they direct me to the 083 1808 number. These calls take 10 minutes for someone to answer which I pay for (my MTN number is a data sim which I cant call from) and in the end, the person cant help anyway.
My most recent frustration is that I would like my contract to end when the 24months are up and have nothing more to do with MTN, instead of it automatically converting to a month to month contract. However, you cannot specify this more than 30days before the end of your contract, but should you not give MTN a month's notice, it automatically converts to a month to month contract.
How can this be legal???
