I've got a Straight Up 100 month to month contract and I took this contract last year with the idea of upgrading when something comes along that I like.
So I see the new Galaxy S4 and manage to get the guys at Lakeside Mall to hold one for me. I get there this morning and I tell Tyrone (who was very helpful) that I'm on a month to month and I want to upgrade. Everything is fine until he tells me that I am indeed not on a month to month but on a 24 month contract. Now my question is, why would somebody take a 24 month contract without a phone? Doesn't make any sense to me.
Anyway what does this mean... It means if I want the S4 now I would have to cancel my current contract but it takes 30 days to cancel so I would have to pay that contract for another month plus the contract cost of the S4. It also means that I'm not allowed to keep my current number and that I would have to pay a connection fee of R114.
All this hassle because somebody made a mistake and created a 24 month contract instead of a month to month.
Cell C please fix this and get me my phone, I'm not willing to pay the extra costs and lose my number just because of a mistake by one of your employees. Thanks.
