I have just received an email from MTN justifying the roaming charges on my account (Ref: 2487793), even though I had my phone on Flight mode unless I was to make a call. Upon reporting to Hello peter, MTN responded and mention a credit on the account. This is not good enough, what is needed is a refund. R11000 from my account in one go has set my family back for a month, so a refund (for inappropriate charges) is more warranted than a credit to account. It has been a month now and the so called credit to my accounthas not gone through because I was charged about R 700 for this month. Another double speak from MTN so far. I need a refund not a credit. In addition, I still have not received my monthly statements (since May 2013) which I am paying for. In fact I have not been getting these statements unless I complained each month. why is this necessary. This is really appalling service from MTN. I have instructed my banker to stop all MTN debit orders from September. Still not satisfied
