Previously I was able to buy prepaid electricity through USSD on my mobile phone.

Last night a tried to buy electricity, only to get a message that states "You do not have enough funds for this transaction. Please recharge to use this service." Now the confusing part is that I have plenty of my contracted airtime, SMSs and data allocation left on my phone so why am I told I don't have enough funds to make the transaction... Oh and there is money in my bank account too.

I've since asked around and it seems the USSD function will only work if I add a top up to my existing contract voice time allocation. This sounds ludicrous so I would appreciate CellC's comment on this issue
