Lodged claim 24th May. Salesman Jabulani promised it would be processed by 12th June. After 4 weeks, still no response. Called -left messages 4 times. Still no response from Altech. Spoke to another agent in the Westwood office who searched on the database and found out that the claim had not even been captured. Called again 30th June was told they were waiting for insurance company to send a replacement phone. Called again mid July - was then told the model was no longer available and they offered to replace with a BLACKBERRY 9360. Told him I do not want it as it has well documented problems and has less features than my Blackberry 9810i. Asked for a Samsung S3/4 and would pay in difference. Jabulani said he would send request to Jhb. Still no reply. Went to store 14 Aug Jabulani. phoned Kwena at Insurance Company who told me that Altech insist that the replacement must be a BLACKBERRY. I told them I do not want it - I am prepared to pay the difference on a SAMSUNG PHONE. KWENA said this will not be allowed - mus. I have now been without a phone for months. still paying insurance premium for something I do not have. Will they refund me for the premiums for 4 mths???
