Not honoring 7 Day "Out of Box" warranty

On 2 Aug I switched from another cellphone service provider to Cell C and bought a Blackberry Q.10. Because of the 'switch' I could only start using the new phone on 4 Aug. On 5 Aug the screen on the phone started to become black from right to left with the result that I could not read the full text. I returned the phone to them on 6 Aug. They have an "out of box" 7 day replacement warranty on the phone but when I returned it they said I'll have to wait for 7 days because it first has to be evaluated. They said they do not have stock to replace the phone immediately which was a because they are selling these phones every day to new clients. I submitted a complaint about this via their website and only got a standard "no-reply" acknowledgement of my complaint by e-mail, but nobody contacted me thereafter. I called them on the 7th day after returning the phone and they told me that they received the phone 'late', blaming the "courier service" and they still had to evaluate the phone. They had no intention to honor the 7 day replacement warranty, neither to evaluate the phone within another 7 days. No care attitude. Is this how Cell C treats their new clients? Still have no phone!
