Mtn
The biggest bill I ever had to pay

For 16 years I was a happy MTN customer with an average monthly account of R800 per month.

In the month of April 2013 I received an account of almost R6518-99!

Naturally I assumed that it was a mistake on the side of my service provider and that it would be rectified when I bring it to their attention.

I took my problem to the MTN office in Harrismith and, when they could not help me, to the MTN office at Pavilion in Durban. (Req: 2154548) All they could tell me is that huge amounts of data has been downloaded from my phone and when I received the printed URL report after two weeks it confirmed that movies and games have been downloaded at very odd hours of the night.

During May of 2013 I phoned the Customer Care line to check on my account for the month and realised that the same was happening. My account was already on R1800. Data was still been downloaded on my account. Out of desperation I asked that my GPRS to be switched off totally. (Req: 2182580) Since then my account has returned to normal.

In numerous telephone calls and e-mails I tried to explain to MTN that it was not me downloading data. Nobody could help me. I had to pay up, but will not shut up!
