Vodacom
Credit ruined by R500!

I had a Vodacom contract for 6 years, but decided to switch to pay as you go last year. On my last month of contract, for some reason Vodacom did not take the debit order as usual. That was about June 2012. In September or October I got a call from Vodacom's lawyers saying I owed R563. I paid the laywers immediately and Vodacom confirmed they'd been paid in full. Last week I tried to buy something on credit and was informed that I had a default on my credit report. I obtained my credit report and the default is the R563 from Vodacom! I called Vodacom and they say they left messages with our office secretary (messages I never received) and posted lettes to my address (I moved in 2011 and never saw a need to chane my address with Vodacom as I had never receieved mail in connection with my Top Up contract as debit orders went off every payday). Vodacom must also note receipt of mail cannot be guaranteed unless it is registered mail. Vodacom now says ITC must remove the default while ITC says only Vodacom can request them to remove it. My record is ruined by a measly R563 which I paid anyway!
