Why do we bother?

On the 22nd of July a telkom telemarketer phoned me wanting to sell me an ADSL service. I explained that it would not be possible as telkom informed me a few months earlier that ADSL will not be available in my area. She insisted and even confirmed with a supervisor that they would be able to make it happen. A week later I called telkom to find out what was going on as I already received a username and everything but still no call from telkom. They informed me that it was with the network department and still going strong. Today I phone as it has been yet another two weeks without any update, not that I am surprised, only to be told that there was no record of my reference number, that they sent me. After getting my ID they found an entry stating exactly what I told them, that telkom was unable to provide the service. A serious waste of time, maybe that should be telkom's new slogan "Allow us to waste your time like no other organization can". I know not everyone in telkom can read so I hope the one person who can reads this and does what I ask. Telkom please forget/lose my number, this way you could try and embarrass yourself a little less.
