Bad customer service/ SIM card not activated

I am writing to complain about Vodacoms terrible customer service. I changed from MTN to Vodacom on Monday. My wife and hour spent what seemed like forever with one of the assistants at the Vodacom store in the Pavilion. I was assured that my SIM would be activated within 24 hours. It is now over 50 hours and still no service on my phone.

The worst part of it is that I have made 8 calls to the Vodacom store and I can't get a straight answer on why the SIM hasn't been activated. They just seem to want to get me off the phone as quickly as possible and they are not informing me of what is going on. I received a call to say my SIM would be activated by 7pm last night which never happened.

I decided to go to the Vodacom store in Lilly's Quarter in Hillcrest to get some help. I was promptly informed that the stores are franchises and are technically competitors. WHAT? Is that their idea of a sustainable business model? He couldn't see any information about my contract or status of my activation because your stores 'don't share' that information with each other.

How can they not get something as basic as this right?
