I received an sms that "my" MTN SP account has been handed over to VVM with an outstanding balance of R7027.94. "Contact us urgently to make a payment arrangement and avoid a possible judgement".

I have NEVER enquired, requested, or opened an account with MTN. I have never given any of my details to MTN.
This smacks of VVM attorneys or MTN trying to extract money and puts you both in a bad light. Resolve this now. There will be NO affidavit, NO judgement, and NO inconvenience. I have never opened an account, so if someone else has done this with my details, then it's YOUR authentication/credit check process that has failed. This is not on me.
