I cancelled my contract with Vodacom at the end of June for the end of July, and received a minimum of two sms's telling me that i will be migrated to a pay as you go service on 31/07/2013. However, when I checked my balances on 1 August to load airtime, I was told that I am still on a contract. When I finally managed to get through to the call centre, I was told I need to turn off my phone for 2-3 hours, which I did, and left it turned off overnight. This morning I however had the same thing. When I phoned Vodacom to check on what is happening, they told me it is a technical fault and that they need 24 hours to resolve.
I have been left without the use of my cellphone for more than a day at this point and will not be able to use it for the next 24 hours.
For someone who calls themselves a service provider, there is not a stitch of service provided. They happily take your money and don't offer any service in return.
As of today, I will no longer be a Vodacom customer, and will not return to them in the foreseeable future.
