A FNB consultant (Noel) call me to offer me free airtime when I buy my normal prepaid airtime from my cheque account. I said what will it cost me and he said nothing. A few hours later I am signed up to a Vodacom Topup 135 contract. I phoned Vodacom to cancel this immediately and was told to contact the FNB callcentre that sold this product to me. I phoned the callcentre and spoke to Zakiya, she said sorry and that she had cancelled as per my request. She told me it will take 48-72 hours to be cancelled. I phoned again 96 hours later as this contract had not been cancelled. I spoke to a supervisor Harold who gave me a reference number and told me to contact Vodacom. I told him I want him to check and call me back, he refused and said he cannot promise me that. I phoned the Vodacom callentre and am told that the account is still active. I cancelled it again (took about 30 mins of my time) and today I am still on the contract. I will take this matter up further if FNB or Vodacom do not cancel this contract that I was conned into. Is this how FNB wants to rob their loyal customers? I for one am looking at my options as there are plenty banks that I could use.
