I have a contract with MTN that has 2 cell phone numbers on it. My husband uses the other num.
On 31 July 2013, we both got sms's saying "Congratulations on your upgrade". At first we ignored the sms's, but on the evening of 1 August 2013, I called 808 to get details from MTN.
To my shock, they told me that both cell numbers' had been upgraded on the 31st of July 2013. The person who did the upgrade took 2 Samsung S4's.
This was done in Bela Bela. I have never been to any MTN store in Bela Bela.
I find it shocking and criminal that MTN would allow an upgrade of a phone to take place without the owner of the contract present and without the subscriber's original ID document being copied. Never mind 2.
This is blatant and daylight .
I am appalled and in shock at the fact that MTN has allowed this to happen, and also because of the un-helpful call centre staff at 808 who provided no assistance on this matter. They all spoke like this is normal for them.
I need MTN to resolve this situation and give me the upgrade that I have been promised every 2 years.
I also want the person from MTN who authorised this upgrade in my absence brought to book.
