Transfer of Ownership

One of my friends had a contract which they do not use but keep paying the contract fees every month. I opted to take over the contract as I had been considering a contract for some time. We followed the whole process of filling in application forms and transfer of ownership as requested, but I forgot my proof of residence at home (the sales lady agreed that I send this via email to her, which I did later that same day).
The application was apparently NOT completed but neither me nor my friend was informed only to discover yesterday that the this has not been done (although transfer was requested 3months ago).

This is terrible service form Vodacom and now we have we have the problem that I gave this contract number to all my friends and family although it isnot in my name. This is a huge inconvenience for both me and my friend. Please can I get feedback on to why this was not done, why neither was informed it was unsuccessfull and what the reasons are.
