Telkom

On 11th November 2012, my house along with 75 others, was totally destroyed by fire in St Francis Bay. On 12th December I called in at the local Telkom retail outlet and they explained that I would have to pay for the usage for calls etc up to the date of the fire before they could "disconnect" my service. On 13th December I duly paid the amount due as shown to me by the Telkom assistant. No further communication from Telkom regarding this account until 14th May when a Ms Lalika Maharaj phoned demanding payment of my account. Without further correspondence she then handed my account over to attorneys DMinc who started to harass me with telephonic calls and did not have the courtesy to reply to my written submissions. Calls to Maharaj were redirected to voice mail, which eventually rejected further calls as it was "full". Out of desperation on 5th July, I revisited the local Telkom outlet and reluctantly paid the "outstanding" account even though it related to subscription services post the fire, which could obviously not have been provided. I have now received the latest statement from Telkom reflecting my payment and showing a "nil" balance. However DM inc continue to harass me!!
