POOR SERVICE AND NO VALID COMMUNICATION

My partner applied for contract phones in Dec. He was called on the 29th Dec to come collect the phones. When he got there he was told the phones have not yet arrived. He then went to the shop the first week of Jan on a Saturday to get feedback, & was told that MTN had stopped the promotion he initially applied for & he had to choose new phones. WHY DIDN'T THEY CALL HIM & ADVISE HIM OF THIS? He then chose new phones & was told to come collect the phones on Monday. He called the shop on Saturday 19th (4 days later) to get feedback again as they still have not bothered to call him, & was then told the phones are still not at the shop after being told to come on Monday. He then told the lady to cancel my application & she advised him it's done (WHAT WAS CANCELLED IF SHE DIDN'T TAKE HIS DETAILS?) He then went to the shop on the same day only to find out that the application was not cancelled & he cancelled it again. Then he was called on Monday 21st Jan to collect the phones which he had cancelled. At the shop his told he has to reapply in order to get the phones & wait for more days again. WHY WAS HE CALLED AFTER CANCELLING THE APPLICATION?
