Poor to no access to network

From about 17h00 Monday the 8th of July here in the area of Brits we have had no access to the network for incoming nor outgoing calls. On inquiry from the local MTN agent I was told it was due to maintenance under the guise of upgrades. It is now wednesday and can still not make phonecalls from my home where there was no such problem before.

I have followed the advice of the local agent like hard resetting my phone and pulling simcards which only fixed it temporarily. Calling the call centre is an exercise on futility seeing that I have no access to the network!! Using my landline I only managed to speak to a consultant using the 0831808 number for contract phones. On discovery that I am PAYG I was immediately transferred to the PAYG section where there is no option to speak to a consultant to explain my predicament!! And I use my two MTN PAYG numbers for business, which I now can not do!!

According to the local agent works was finished on Tuesday already. Instead of an upgrade to the network, I now have little to no access where before the upgrade everything was fine!
