In March I contacted Web Africa as my Telkom/ADSL line was cancelled and no longer in service. I asked the consultant to cancel my ADSL service as I had no telkon line. She tested the line and found this to be true so she cancelled my service. If you have a line you need to be able to download data so I was paying for 5GB of Data which I thought was cancelled when I cancelled the line - IF I HAD NO LINE WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH 5GB OF DATA. I also have a hosting service with Web Africa so every month I thought I was only paying for this service but upon inspection of my latest invoice I see ADSL line and then picked up the phone to query this.
I then called Web Africa and was told that even though I did not have the ADSL line, I needed to specify that I wanted the 5GB of Data cancelled and because I didn't specify this at the time they had a right to charge me. My argument is that without the line how was I going to access/use this 5GB of Data and after cancelling I am still being charged for July. I am now cancelling my hosting service because of the way this was handled. To be charging me for a service I was not able to use and they were aware of it.
