Mtn
Unnecessary Statements

Dear MTN. My name is Kemong Mopedi. I just got off the phone with Ntombi, one of your call centre consultants. I understand that I couldn't get a sim swap done for whatever reasons. But while explaining to Ntombi that I last used my cellphone in the early hours of Sunday morning, she asked if I was sure because that's not what was showing on the system. Ntombi then asked me again if I was sure because black people usually don't check the time. I then asked her what race had to do with the whole matter because I actually didn't understand where she was going with her statement. She refused to apologize saying that she deals with clients all the time and asked me if I wasn't black. I know for sure that she wouldn't have made this kind of stereotypical statement had it been someone from another race on the phone. I found Ntombi and her statement completely rude, condescending and appalling to say the least.
