Vodacom Advanced Repair Centre

Five months ago I had problems with my Blackberry Bold's screen. It made a white screen and when I press the screen on the bottom right it worked, but got tired of strugling so I sent it to my local vodashop and they sent it to the advanced repair centre. About a month later they gave me a new phone, happy as can be.
About a month ago the phone I got did exactly the same. I've done the same by sending it to vodashop, but today the Advanced Repair Centre phoned me saying they quote me R 2 000.00 for fixing it because it is water damaged. Astonished, I asked them how can it be because it's still brand new and was NEVER even near water, and why when (once again) I press the screen on the botom right the phone seems to work but when one takes your thumb away it goes white again ----- It seems like a CONNECTION problem!
They deny it and asked me do I want to accept the quote or not. Declined, they will send it back.

Can anyone give me advise on the matter?
