MTN Rustenburg - Clueless

I had received my Apple I-Phone 4 in February this year and after 1 week the phone no longer switched on but instead displayed a white screen. I took it to my MTN branch where they sent it away for repairs. After 4 Weeks I received the I-Phone back. It was not explained to me that the phone received was a replacement service phone. The first day of use the replacement automatically switched itself off. I returned this to MTN of which they once again sent the phone back. I had NO response from MTN for 6 Weeks which resulted me in phoning the service department who then told me that they had received no phone under my reference number given. I then went into the MTN branch to find out where my phone was. It was only then explained that my phone was a replacement service phone and after 2 hours of waiting they finally managed to find my phone. I took the phone home and it resulted in having the same problem. I then proceeded in sending the phone back once again. After no correspondence from MTN again I gave them a call this morning and now owe R1000.00 for the repairs because the phone is no longer under warranty? How difficult is it to repair the problem first time?
