MTN gross negligence and incompetence

My brother renewed his MTN contract on 1st June 2013 from a Blackberry contract to the Samsung S3.

The sales consultant said that he would be able to exchange his contract airtime for data bundles.
On the 2nd June he did try and this did not work, after further research we came to the conclusion that this was never the case from day one.

Today 3rd June 2013, I went into the store with a letter drawn up by my brother stating that I have power of attorney to act on his behalf. The same consultant that finalize the deal then said that she does not have to talk to me as I am not the client. I then showed her the consumer act making reference to the return period and laws as governed in South Africa. She then told me that the consumer laws does not include them.

I find this kind of intimidation utterly distasteful and unprofessional. We are well within our right to cancel said contract as it was committed to on false basis not by any fault of our own. This time buying strategy of said consultant is not only wasteful of our time but also money. It seems all she is trying to do is buy time for the remorse period to close, so that she can continue this kind of misconduct.
