MTN 24, STILL BILLING AFTER NOTICE GIVEN

I took out a MTN contract 24 months ago.

I wanted to end my contract and went to the MTN store.

The consultant said that I must give the notice 10 June. So I done so. He said if I done it on that day then I would be able to keep my number on prepaid and my bank account would not be debited end of June.

End of June I checked my bank statement and showed MTN debited my account.
I did a reversal of my account as that is not what the consultant promised.

I am now getting SMS's from MTN stating that I must pay my account to prevent Legal action taken against me.

The consultant promised me at MTN that my account would not be debited end of June, yet MTN still took money.

Also the day that I gave my notice - R100 was taken from my airtime.

I don't understand why I must pay this account if the consultant said I would not have to if given the proper notification and empty promises were made.
