I have an existing account with Telkom for the last 6 months or so - Telephone and ADSL line -
I moved house on the 31 May 2013 and requested a line/service transfer to the new address. (I phone through the request on the 14 May 2013) - Now I call the find out what is happening and the accounts dept say nothing is wrong but the option centre/transfers dept say I have an amount of R2000 outstanding from the year 2000 linked to my id number.
I have been paying every bill I ever received from telkom and my account is up to date (confirmed by the accounts dept) - the accounts department can not give me details - but now I have moved house and Telkom refuses to install the same service I had in the new house because of this outstanding amount.
I do not know of this amount and have nothing outstanding with Telkom. Also "IF" I did owe this amount - that was 13 years ago and should the "prescription act" not come into effect.
Once again shocking service/support from Telkom - and nobody to help me - they just say PAY and that their computer systems are right - What must I pay for - a bill I never had.
