Disappointed by service

I applied for an 8-ta contract at a Telkom Direct store last week. I waited for feedback on my application and eventually went into the store to find out why I had not heard anything. I was then told that I had an amount outstanding. When I followed up on this I was told that there was an amount against my name that had been written off. It was an outstanding amount related to 2001. I explained that this was not possible as I had settled all accounts with them when I had moved house in 2001 in order to have a landline installed at my new address.

They now want me to provide them with deposits and receipts which I obviously don't have to prove that I have paid the amount. I don't know of many people who keep receipts for so long. I am now unable to take out any of Telkom's packages because I am being penalised for an amount that they had written off and which I have never been notified of before. This is poor service by any standards. I am extremely disappointed by the conduct of Telkom to the extent that I am considering selling the few shares that I have in Telkom.
