My name in arrears!!!???

Over a year ago i cancelled my telkom line due to a billing problem, the outstanding amount was -R3000 of which they credited me -R1300. the outstanding amount was R1700 of which i had to pay.. i then paid R1000 the first month and forgot to pay the R800 which was my mistake, the next month i was mailed by Christel Cordom who requested that i pay the outstanding amount of R800 which i did and also replied to her email saying: "Please see attached, also let me know if there is still an outstanding amount and how much it is and also with which account number I need to pay it to and it will be payed asap. Thank you". i never received a response so i was under the impression that i do not owe telkom anything, and all this happened over a year ago. a month or two ago i applied for a pre-approved home loan at the bank and was told that i do not qualify due to my account being in arrears with telkom??? i then immediately called telkom and spoke to someone in there accounts department who assured me that by the next day my name will be cleared and removed from ITC which still has not happened. Im a 22YO woman i cannot afford to have a bad record when its not my fault!!!
