After my contract ended in March I phoned Vodacom's cancellations number to ensure it was in fact ended. I was told I had to follow a rather lengthly and inconvenient procedure to actually end it and convert to prepaid but did as I was told. The following month - end of April, I was again billed the full amount. After waiting over a week for a reply to an email I phoned support and explained the above. They told me that I had to do the same procedure again (turn phone off for 24 hours then top up with prepaid airtime, which is bizarre and in itself cause for a complaint). They assured me that it would now be cancelled and that I could login to myvodacom to see my account status. And it did indeed reflect that I was now on a 4u prepaid plan. A week or so later I was phoned again by support informing me that I would be refunded for the extra months I paid for, which was welcome news. All the airtime I had accumulated was subsequently deducted from my balance, presumably to be exchanged for the cash refund. Today I was yet again debited the full amount and still have seen no sign of the refund I was told I would get.
