Mtn
Billed when contract cancelled

Hi,

I requested my contract be cancelled upon expiry last year. After much fighting and a hellopeter post, this was accepted by MTN and I was told that on the 24th of Jan my contract would be cancelled and if I wish to continue on prepaid, I should call the customer care before the contract ends. Around the 7th of Jan I called and was told that I need to call on the day it expires to keep my number.

I called on the 24th of Jan only to be told that my number had been cancelled and it needs to be reactivated to convert to prepaid and would take 2 days. A week and a half later, the number was not active so I turned off my phone. I just checked my email this morning and I have a bill for R580.34. I turned my phone on to see that MTN has given me more airtime.

I called the callcentre who said my contract is still active, but was told my R846.75 balance would be lost if I port to prepaid. This is unacceptable as I asked for my contract to be cancelled but am being billed for an additional month (or more).

I would like MTN to transfer the R846.75 to my prepaid account as I am paying for it and should be entitled to it, especially after MTN messed up in the first place

Thanks
