Having to pay for 3G data

Hi.

My Vodacom 3G wifi internet data router was on Thursday morning out of my house when I was at work and I realised that it was the afternoon when I got back from work on the 30th of May 2013. The person that the item then went and downloaded 3.14 Gigs worth of data by the time that I could report that it was. I am now having to pay for 1.94 Gigs of that that went over my allocated free data bundle. That means I will have to pay almost R2 400 to vodacom for the of my data and excluding having to replace the wifi internet router and sim card. I pay R150 per month for my 2 Gigs of free data per month, which is what i can afford. I only earn R7 000 per month and I can not afford to make such a payment for such.

Can somebody please help me, is there not some form of insurance that either vodacom or me can claim from or can vodacom not just take my next month's 2 gigs of free data and not just deduct the 1.94 gigs of data from my next months free data, then I will have to make due with no data for June 2013 as I can not afford to pay R2 400 for the data?
