Debit for a disconnected numbe

Three months before my contract expired I advised Vodacom to convert my line to a prepaid service as I will no longer be a contract customer. They advised be to call a month before the expiry date which I complied. I was told that my request has been logged and will be converted on the date of expiry. A month after my contract expired my account was still being debited, I again called Vodacom to query the debit and the call center agent informed me that my account was never converted to prepaid and there is no record of my request on the system, I asked the agent to escalate the issue to the supervisor on duty who promised to review all calls and come back to me. This did not happen and each time I request that the contract be cancelled my request is never logged. It is now almost 8 months and each time I call the call center I am informed that the number has been allocated to another user but my account is being debited monthly.
