Mxm, mtn takes customers for granted

Two incidences relating to customer issue resolution.

1) I called MTN informing them that I can't access my vmail. Firstly they told me they will need to reset my voicemail, which it was not acceptable as i needed certain information from one of my voicemails. They said they will escalate, i called them second time and third time, for three months, the issue was never resolved and i was never called back to let me know of progress or lack-off.
2) I lost my phone yesterday and called them to de-activate my sim card; they told me it can't be done without me doing a sim-swap. I asked them how am I supposed to do a swim swap at that time of the night, i can't even buy a sim card at that time and the next i will be going to work, I can only have time Saturday. They refused to listen; they started speaking about human rights, which was irrelevant to my issue.

MTN thinks they have more subscribers and that gives them the right to abuse customers. And yes, I am switching a network, not by choice but i am forced by MTN. I hope the government enacts an act that will allow consumers to deal with such and make them fine a lot for bad service and abuse of power.
