Vodacom their way or the highway

I have a data contract with Vodacom that I got last year. I hardly ever have time to use it from my laptop @ home. I called them to see if I cannot upgrade the contract to add a tablet so that I can use the data on the go. I got an obvious NO from the Call Centre and I understand coz they have script. I called my local Vodacom shop in Killarney and I also got a NO "because I have a 2 year contract". I do not dispute the contract, in fact I want to stay with Vodacom but I just need a device that supports my lifestyle. Upgrading would mean I pay more on my current contract with Vodacom but NO, Vodacom is not that flexible - a contract is a contract whether it suits the life of their customer or not.

Hope to hear from someone from Vodacom on this. I have a friend with a similar problem. Its a joke really because this means more money for them plus they can even increase the tenure of the contract when they upgrade.
