MY cell phone contract was originally in my father's name. However, last year I applied to transfer the contract in my name and therefore pay the monthly bills myself. The only thing MTN did get right was to transfer the bank details and as a result I was paying the monthly bill, but the contract was still in my father's name.
I only realised this when I applied for an upgrade -Since the contract was in his name, I couldnt do anything - Although I was the one paying the monthly bill!!! I then asked MTN Stellenbosch (the branch responsible for this pathetic admin mistake) to fix this. This was not possible - I apparently had to apply for a new transfer - Since my credit worthiness has to be re-evalued?? But I was already paying the bill. Nevertheless, I did as they told me and applied AGAIN to FINALLY have the contract IN MY NAME on the 03/04/2013. It is now a month later and nothing have come of this. MTN Stellenbosch is responsible for this mistake and they are making me pay the price for their own incompetence by not attending to the issue at hand.
