Muscle and Fitness (Leila) told me sometime mid last year that, they have a service that allows transfer of gym membership access (you can pick someone to use you gym membership but remain responsible a contract holder), this service is available for the cost of R100 for a transfer. To be safe I asked if I can take back my access anytime I want, and I was told It will cost R100 to transfer the access again, i was happy and I did the first transfer to my friend.
Since December 2012 I have been trying to get my gym access and I was told the facility to transfer is no longer available and that I should keep paying until the contract expires (without attending the gym).
After complaining, they told me they can do me a favour and transfer access to my name again at the cost of R400, this is does not make sense (why should the weakness in management of the gym be a cost to me?). Referring to section 8, terms and condition of the contract, the gym was supposed to notify me nor more than 80, nor less than 40 business days, either telephonically, sms or any other recorded form to let me know of any material changes to my contract, including any increases to membership fees, I wasn't notified.
