Contract cancelled and fees taken off

Canceled my virgin active gym membership debt order in December 2012, was assured that membership was cancelled and no money would be deducted, took my cancelations fee. No problem, received statements to find that 2 months fees were taken off, went in to correct it, person can not remember canceling it and told me to use their phone and wait on hold, it's been 3 months and no response, looking to take the matter up further!!!
