Efused to cancel my contract

Last year i got a membership at Bedfordview gym as my collage was next door . in October i decided to cancel my contract because i live an hour away and wouldn't be going through to bedfordview anymore. i was told i would pay a portion of what i still had to owe as i was cancelling before my year was over and i was OK with that and gave them the go ahead to cancel. not hearing anything from them i presumed my contract was cancelled.. a few days ago my mother told me that she had checked her bank statement and that virgin where still subtracting R1000 (the 4 months since cancelling) off my account against my will) i went to the gym yesterday and wanted to find out what had happened, i was told something went WRONG WITH THE CANCELLATION AND THEY HAD JUST REFUSED TO CONTACT ME AND TELL ME meaning they could still make money off me. when i complained about it the only solution they could give was to cancel my gym membership now but still charge me for march. And then was told that they could give me 2 months free which doesn't make sense as i already have a membership with another gym and wouldn't need it. all i want is my money back. cant believe they treat their clients this
