The steam room at Mt Edgecombe is set far too high. I understand that steam rooms are supposed to be hot, but it literally burns my flesh. Several other members have agreed with me and I believe the issue has been reported to the gym before but with no permanent change. The steam rooms I've used at other gyms never get to the point of burning flesh.
On Saturday I used the steam room, after an older man had left, I asked the only remaining guy in there if it was okay to leave the door slightly open to cool the room (which I've seen others do). He agreed with me but the man who had left started shouting and complaining on the outside. i told him to calm down and said that I thought he left. I was going to apologize to keep the peace but at this point he got off his chair walked right up to my face and was provoking a fight with me. Had I not walked away it would have turned physical.
Ironically this man insisted on calling me INCONSIDERATE, after he had sat in the steam room for 15mins at extreme heat with the water running while not allowing me just 2mins of manageable heat. Why should steamrooms serve the few that want extreme heat? Cancelling membership, last straw for me.
